Phyllis Weaver Payne was born on September 28, 1924 to Grace and O.J. Weaver in Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated from Texas Christian University and then married Lawrence J. Payne, the love of her life. Their marriage, which lasted 66 years, consisted of many adventures. Larry was with Stanolind Oil and Gas Co. which moved them from state to state. They settled in Dallas in 1959 where they raised their family.
Phyllis started her interior design business, Phyllis Payne Interiors, there. She also was involved in her church, University Park United Methodist, and also Craig Class, Dance Club, and Caprice Club. She also enjoyed bridge, gardening, and travel.
Mostly she treasured her family and friends. Her husband died in 2011 and she then surrounded herself with her children, son Keith and his wife Rita, daughter Loren and her husband Spencer, granddaughter Shannon Goodman and husband Jonathan, grandson Wiley Adair and wife Danielle and great grandson Elliot, and grandson Hayden Adair. She never had the chance to meet her other great grandchildren, Miles, Jensen, and Josie, or her grand daughter-in-law Lauren.
Her 91 years were full of life, joy, love and generosity to those around her. She passed away on May 14, 2016. She is greatly missed by so many.
Her death certificate was amended on July 9, 2018 to "Homicidal Violence".
